Penchak Silat means "lightning combat". This martial art is certainly influenced by certain Indian techniques. As in karate, use is made of unarmed combat. However, Indonesian weapon handling is also taught. Martial arts teachers, called pendekar here, use self-hypnosis procedures. There are more than 400 silat techniques.
