As expected, Ella gets upset when Miguel informs her he has been assigned to defend Ricardo de la Cruz. In contrast, Red refuses to do the story and even warns Ella the residents of Marilag plan to sue Aragon Mining. Furthermore, Tessa is set to be the townspeople’s lawyer. Actually, Don Fernando is considering the possibility of a settlement. But it is his son, Ed, who is set against it. Instead, the family heeds Denise’s suggestion of distributing a few grocery items to the residents to deflect their antagonism. Back at the mansion, Jaime learns from their former housemaid about his late mother’s scheme to keep him and Tessa apart. The maid also clears Patricia of any wrongdoing.
